African Monarch (Danaus chrysippus alcippus)

The African Monarch (Plain Tiger or African Queen) is in the same family as the regular Monarch, but definitely steals the show with the colors of an African savanna sunset. Both sides of the wings have rich oranges and warm ambers; however, we prefer and recommend the underside (as shown in the pictures) as it has excellent golden yellows, and a few interesting markings reminiscent of jaguar spots!
